"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." — Joshua 1:9 (ESV)
I met Jesus when I was five years old as a pastor's kid growing up in Birmingham, Alabama with my younger brother and sister. The three of us were homeschooled by my mother up until my freshman year of high school when my brother and I began attending a private Christian school in Mobile. Dad had taken a lead pastor position at a church here and life was quickly changing for all of us. My bro and I would remain at that little Christian school for two years until the tuition got so outrageous that mom and dad opted to move us to the public school by our house and leave my little sister at the nice private school. (I'm not bitter.)
In 2005, I knocked out my freshman year of college at the University of South Alabama, declaring a major in Communications with a track in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in English Literature. I spent a year at Valdosta State University in Georgia in 2008 studying International Media, Marketing & Advertising, and Public Relations before transferring back to South and completing my senior year of Communications in 2010, thus earning my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications. Part of the reason for the return to South Alabama was due to the reemergence of my childhood Epilepsy, which has since played an integral part in my personal testimony and my ministry.
Since then I've been writing for local magazines, serving as Communications Director for my church for over a decade, and even worked over 15 years in the clothing retail industry.
In December of 2018, I helped my father launch a church revitalization nonprofit organization known as 6:14 Ministries, where I now serve full-time as Communications Director — managing all things digital, designing marketing and promotional materials, managing public relations, designing logos and websites for churches, and much more. I also help pastors and churches learn how to implement, manage, and utilize technology to better spread the Gospel and to better engage with their own people and with the surrounding community.
