I’ve recently been just a tad critical of this entirely nonsensical and altogether absurd “transgender” shtick. Perhaps you’ve noticed. Of course, when I say that I’ve been “just a tad critical,” what I really mean is that I’ve denounced transgenderism as the utterly evil, ridiculous, immoral, vile, sinful, wicked, harmful, deceptive, depraved and completely disgusting untruth that it is. If that makes me “an ignorant jerk” or a “horrible person” or an “insensitive monster" — as I’ve been referred to on more than one occasion — by today’s modern progressive standards, then so be it. My fate is sealed. Besides, in this backwards society in which we live, I’ll take these sort of responses as compliments.
Anyway, you may have also noticed that all hell broke loose a few days ago when President Trump announced through a series of tweets (because, why not?) that he would be banning so-called “transgender” individuals from serving in the military:
Last Thursday, the White House officially confirmed the announcement and said that the president intends to carry out the orders on the advice of his generals, which could potentially remove “thousands” of service members who identify as “trans” according to some legal experts. (More on those numbers in a minute.) Now, keep in mind that this hasn’t been implemented yet. Nothing has actually been carried out. It appears as if it will. But, it hasn’t officially happened. For the time being, there have been no authoritative changes to the policies. Regardless, it only took about eight seconds for everyone on the Left and even a handful of Republicans and conservatives to volcanically erupt into fits of mass hysteria and outrage.
This is it, folks! The end is nigh! Donald Trump has banned mentally-ill, cross-dressing men and women from serving in the U.S. armed forces! The apocalypse is upon us! Everyone run for the hills!
As expected, the anti-Trump headlines ran rampant:
“Donald Trump’s ban on transgender people in the military is un-American”
“Trump’s Transgender Ban About Hate, Not Money”
“Trump’s transgender military ban ignores their courage”
And, of course, a much anticipated tweet from the all-mighty and all-knowing feminist blog Ms. Magazine:
My God. Is this really what it’s come to? Is this where our culture is? It’s now considered a “self-evident truth” that a biological male with a penis and a Y chromosome can actually be an actual woman? Or that a woman with a vagina, uterus and ovaries can be an actual man?
No. Science, psychiatry, reason, logic and the entire worldwide medical community dictate that it is biologically, anatomically and logically impossible to “transition” from one sex to another or to have the opposite gender mysteriously trapped somewhere within your body. Well, at least they did up until about five minutes ago, I guess. But, thanks to the LGBTQIAPK community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, Pansexual, Kink — in case you were wondering), we’re all drowning in politically-correct terminology and more made-up gender pronouns than any intelligent human being has the time or the desire to keep up with. (I think there's somewhere in the vicinity of 58 possibilities now.)
Nevertheless — with science, logic, reason and the basic fundamentals of reality on my side — I feel perfectly safe and correct in stating this one inarguable and utterly obvious truth: There can be no such thing as a military ban on “transgenders” because this group of people does not exist in the first place, at least not in the way that most people would have us believe. “Transgendered” individuals are, by definition and in all actuality, people who suffer from a severe mental [and spiritual] illness — one that most sane clinical psychiatrists refer to these days as gender dysphoria: “the condition of feeling one’s emotional and psychological identity as a male or female to be opposite to one’s biological sex.”
But, as any mature adult knows, emotions do not equal or dictate reality. Just because you “feel” a certain way about a certain thing, does that mean that it is true or that it’s your reality. Children think that way. Grown-ups do not. At least, they shouldn’t. And yet, here we are with an entire demographic of so-called “adults" playing dress-up and pretending to be something they are not — the opposite of what and who they are — all while demanding that they’re perfectly fit for service in our armed forces. Really?
You know, I could walk around all day tomorrow “feeling" like a North American bald eagle — even identifying myself as one — but I guarantee you that if I were to leap off a rooftop and attempt to soar into the sunset, I would wind up plummeting tragically to my death on the pavement below. Why? Because I’m not a bald eagle. I’m a human being for God’s sake. And if by some miracle I survived the fall, I’d probably be strapped to a gurney, taken to a local psych ward and placed in a rubber room.
So, when you hear that Trump has “banned transgenders” from serving in the military, what has actually happened is this: He’s banned people who suffer from severe psychological delusions and emotional disorders. And, when you really think about it, that isn’t such a bad thing. After all, our military has one job: to kick ass by protecting our nation and killing our enemies. It was never meant to be a tool for social experimentation. That would only hinder its main objectives and goals, subsequently putting the safety of our nation in jeopardy. And that’s not something that any of us should want.
I understand that the small handful of the gender dysphoric servicemen and servicewomen in the military — who really only ring in at somewhere between 1,320 and 6,630 out of over one million troops — will take the president’s actions as a personal slap in the face. They feel they’re being disrespected as if their sacrifices for this nation don’t matter. They feel rejected and shunned for reasons that they don’t agree with. I get it.
But, the military isn’t all about your feelings. If you didn’t learn that in bootcamp, then something didn’t go right. No branch of the United States Armed Forces should be concerned with whether or not its choices and actions will offend people or hurt their feelings. It should only be concerned with being the very best that it can be. And doing things like paying for sex change operations, hormone supplements, reversal operations and even hair removal procedures for self-identified “trans” servicemen and women doesn’t exactly meet that goal, nor does allowing these mentally and emotionally unstable individuals into its ranks.
Most of all, though, the military — and our culture as a whole — should be grounded in reality. And catering to people who believe themselves to be something that they are not, and can never be, is not only ridiculous and absurd, but destructive and harmful to these delusional individuals.
They need deep psychological and spiritual counseling. They don’t need to be handed anything and everything that they “feel” they want. And if that means denying them service in the military, then so be it.
