Like millions of other citizens, I watched President Trump’s Tuesday evening State of the Union address, which included inspirational and compelling calls for America to never become a socialist nation, to continue to empower women in the workforce, to safeguard our border from illegal immigration, and to always protect the lives of unborn and newborn children because they are “made in the holy image of God.” The speech was nothing short of a home run for the President and further proved that he is indeed capable of delivering an encouraging, uplifting, and electrifying talk when he sticks to the script. Personally, I’m grateful that he chose to do so. As I’ve mentioned numerous times before, scripted-Trump is always better than off-the-cuff-Trump.
Anyway, the president made it a point to use incredibly gruesome and articulative language when he mentioned the recent late-term abortion law passed in New York, saying, “Lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb moments before birth. These are living, feeling, beautiful babies who will never get the chance to share their love and dreams with the world.”
He also strongly condemned Virginia Democratic Governor Ralph Northam’s recent unapologetic endorsement and approval of late-term abortion infanticide, saying that Northam would “execute a baby after birth.”
Trump boldly added, “To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking the Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb. Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life. And let us reaffirm a fundamental truth — all children — born and unborn — are made in the holy image of God.”
This statement was met with resounding and thunderous applause from, well, most of the people in the room. As you might imagine, conservatives and Republicans naturally leapt to their feet, clapping enthusiastically, some even shouting, “Amen!” It was, without a doubt, one of the strongest moments of Trump’s presidency and one of my personal favorites. It has been far too long since an American president so fearlessly affirmed this sort of truth on the national stage.
Democrats, however, remained plastered to their seats. They soaked. They soured. They scorned. They could not even bring themselves to show the slightest bit of approval or agreement with the fact that a newborn child possesses inherent dignity and has a right to life. It was a truly astonishing and equally sickening sight to behold. Millions of Americans watched as Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, and others either smirked in disgust or completely ignored the president's heartfelt defense of the defenseless.
If — as someone with a functioning conscience and a soul — you feel uncomfortable or unwilling to applaud or support the idea of not killing babies, then you may need to reassess some things about yourself. Repentance and a desperate embrace of God would be a good start.
The lack of concern and respect for human life that we saw from the Democratic Party on Tuesday evening only serves as further evidence that there is a dark, demonic, destructive, and deadly force at work within the ranks of liberal progressive leadership throughout the nation. I say “deadly” because as long as abortion remains an active and excessive practice in our society — and an ideological platform supported by the Left — millions of innocent children will continue to perish.
And every time a pain-capable, fully-developed, viable, innocent baby is injected with poison or brutally crushed with forceps — in or out of the womb — Satan celebrates in the fiery depths of Hell.
