House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi made headlines a few days ago when she stated that Trump’s desire to build a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border was “a manhood thing for him.” This isn’t just a terrible rebuttal; it’s a hilarious one. I guess her best working argument against the wall at the time was that Trump shouldn’t erect [no pun intended] something just to suit or confirm his own bombastic and chauvinistic male ego. Ok. Thanks for the counsel and the metaphorical imagery, Nancy. I’m sure the president appreciates it as well. We all know that he lives and dies by your opinion.
Pelosi later — and more recently — backpedalled on her bizarre psycho-Freudian statement, attempting to clarify her comments in an interview with Elle by explaining: “A wall, in my view, is an immorality. It’s the least effective way to protect the border and the most costly. I can’t think of any reason why anyone would think it’s a good idea — unless this has something to do with something else.”
Later, she repeated the talking point to a group of reporters: “The fact is: the wall is an immorality. It’s not who we are as a nation. It’s an old way of thinking.”
She made these additional remarks shortly before the current government shutdown, in which Congressional lawmakers find themselves locked in an ongoing stalemate over border security and funding of the wall (or “barrier” as we’re now apparently referring to it.) As you know, each side of the political aisle refuses to budge on their position. Pelosi, along with her Democratic cohorts, have made it clear that they would never, under any circumstance, allocate taxpayer funding for the wall. Of course, this isn’t because they protest the notion of spending your money. After all, they’re Democrats. No, it’s because a border wall would supposedly infringe upon some mysterious, ethereal, and never-before-discovered system of values and ethics. It would be “an immorality” according to anointed Jedi Master Pelosi.
Values? Ethics? Morality? Seriously? This from the woman whose political Party is in favor of using taxpayer money to fund an organization that slaughters a million human beings a year to the tune of over $500 million? The same Party that champions an LGBT movement that has resulted in child abuse and the eventual normalization of pedophilia? The same Party that support’s Antifa’s violent street riots? The same Party that tried to smear an innocent man’s reputation and destroy his life and family for no good reason at all? The same Party whose adherents encourage hysteria and protests whenever a conservative speaker arrives at a college campus? The same Party whose adherents regularly mock God and Christianity? The same Party that indoctrinates innocent children with adult sexual content and leftist gender ideology?
Listening to Nancy Pelosi lecture us on the immorality of a border wall is like listening to a morbidly obese McDonald’s addict lecture us on how to eat healthier while he holds a Big Mac in one hand and a large fry in the other. After a while, it becomes nothing more than vacuous and hypocritical nonsense. You can’t take this woman’s argument seriously because she and her Party have and continue to contradict themselves at every turn. Frankly, I’m astonished that they can even keep up with their own web of lies and deceit.
Speaking of hypocritical nonsense, one must also wonder why Nancy and the ‘ole Dems are perfectly fine with walls, barriers, and fences around other countries like Israel, Jordan, Egypt, etc. Believe it or not, there was a time when their Party even approved legislation for the assistance in funding such walls for our allies. So why is border protection acceptable for everyone but the United States? Do we not have a right to protect ourselves from the dangers of illegal immigration, which has repeatedly proven to have disastrous effects on our nation?
You might argue that Nancy was asserting that it would be “immoral” or financially reckless to spend upwards of five billion dollars on a border wall when our nation is already drowning in debt. I could almost agree with this perspective if it weren’t for the fact that our government funnels millions and millions of dollars into organizations like Planned Parenthood, which commits hundreds of thousands of immoral atrocities on an annual basis. The counterargument would be that this money can (and should be) redirected to fund the border wall, while simultaneously saving the lives of thousands of unborn children. Turn an immorality into something positive.
It’s truly laughable that the Democratic Party — who often want to spend trillions at the drop of a hat on any random leftist pet project or newly created “social right” — refuse to agree to pull together the necessary five billion dollars needed to construct a wall to safeguard our country (which, by the way, is the moral duty and obligation of the president.) If they’re going to argue that a border wall is somehow inherently “racist” or “evil” or “immoral,” then they’re also going to have to argue that it’s “immoral” to have a border in general or to be a sovereign nation in the first place. After all, what’s the point of having a border if it doesn’t mean anything and if it is not strictly defined and sovereignly protected?
Somehow, I don’t think that’s an argument they are capable of making. Or, more likely, it's an argument that they are unwilling to make. Either way, there's little point in debating the morality of a wall when your own Party has no concept of morality itself.
