So, apparently the Obama administration has discovered why savage, apocalyptic jihadis are hellbent on slaughtering Americans, establishing a worldwide caliphate and chopping off the heads of anyone who stands in their way.
It’s because it’s just too doggone hard to find a job in Syria.
That’s right. Earlier this week, State Department spokesperson Marie Harf decided to educate us on the psychological intricacies of radical Islamic extremists and how to defeat terrorist organizations like ISIS. You know, because we’re too stupid to understand the complexities of modern warfare or why anyone would “pick up an AK-47 instead of trying to start a business.”
Yes, our State Department spokeswoman actually said that. She also said this: “We cannot kill our way out of this war. We need, in the longer term, medium to longer term, to go after the root causes that lead people to join these groups. We can work with countries around the world to help improve their governance. We can help them build their economies so they can have job opportunities for these people.”
As you might expect, she took a beating in the national media for it and now we’re all left wondering what the heck she actually meant. Personally, I just started laughing at her. After all, this is the sort of foot-in-the-mouth schtick we’ve all come to expect from this administration and, particularly, this blonde bimbo who, ironically, was the former spokesperson for the Central Intelligence Agency. (Though she seems to be lacking in intelligence as of late.) To her credit, although it’s utterly irrelevant at this point, she has since attempted to clarify her original statement — by digging an even deeper hole for herself:
“Longer term, we cannot kill every terrorist around the world, nor should we try. How do you get at the root causes of this? Look, it might be too nuanced an argument for some, like I’ve seen over the past 24 hours some of the commentary out there, but it’s really the smart way that Democrats, Republicans, military commanders, our partners in the Arab world think we need to combat this.”
This is all just classic Obama administration ideology. It’s the sort of ideology that says: Let’s fight a war on poverty when we should be fighting a war on radical Islamic extremism. Let’s launch a program when we should be launching missiles. Let’s target economic grievances when we should be targeting the heads of every ISIS militant we can find. You see, this is what happens when you elect a community organizer to the highest office in the land and expect him to defend our nation. At the end of the day, this is all Obama knows. He’s not a military-minded guy. He’s an activist and a spineless coward. He’s all about programs and politics, not real world solutions.
I hate to break it to Ms. Harf, but there’s no proven significant connection between poverty and jihadi terror. In fact, countless ISIS militants hail from Western Europe, where it’s certainly easier to start a business or find a job than it is to pick up a gun and start slaughtering infidels in the name of Allah. Countries like Germany, Britain and France are among the wealthiest nations on our planet and their government welfare programs make ours look like preschool daycare programs. And yet, more British Muslims are signing up for a life of jihad than are joining the British Army. And let’s not forget that some of the most well-known and ruthless terrorists have come from wealthy families and educated backgrounds — Usama bin Laden’s Saudi family was quite wealthy and ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi holds degrees from the University of Baghdad.
Sorry, Marie, but the facts just aren’t on your side. These sadistic maggots are motivated by a radical religious ideology, not by poverty. To even suggest the possibility that bloodthirsty jihadis are killing people out of boredom for lack of job opportunities is dangerously naive and just plain ignorant.
I get that you don’t want to acknowledge the 'elephant in the room' here. It’s much easier to talk about economic grievances than the extremist strain of Islam that calls for the establishment of a worldwide caliphate and the gruesome death of any infidel who refuses to conform. It’s not a particularly delightful topic. Not to mention, it might even offend some people and we just can’t have that, can we? Your boss has taught you well, Ms. Harf.
But, there’s really no way around this. Radical Islam is, quite arguably, the most violent religion to ever exist anywhere on Earth at any time past or present. Now, we could sit here all day and debate whether or not these jihadists are “true Muslims” or if their interpretation of Islam is the proper interpretation. Then again, we could do that with just about any religion. I bet if you were to round up a bunch of Baptists, Methodists, Catholics and Presbyterians and put them in a room, they’d debate and argue over even the most trivial aspects of the Christian faith. However, I bet they wouldn’t start arguing about the moral dilemmas associated with beheading innocent civilians, raping women, claiming child brides or murdering infidels in cold blood. I don’t know of any Christian militant groups blowing up buildings in the name of Jesus. There’s only one religion out there that has this sort of problem: Islam. That should at least be a red flag that there might, just maybe, be some sort of deeply ingrained inherent flaw within this so-called “religion of peace.”
America’s fight against ISIS and Islam is a very real and very deadly war. It will not be won with political platitudes or silly government-fueled programs and ideas. This is absurd. No jihadi is going to turn in his AK-47 for a spatula and a McDonald’s uniform. Sorry, Ms. Harf. It just doesn’t work that way.
