As you may be aware, there’s an ongoing debate in Delaware concerning a piece of legislation that would allow students as young as five to choose their own race and gender identity without approval or input from parents. Perhaps you heard about this as far back as last November. It resurfaced in the news this week when over 250 people showed up at last month’s committee meeting to protest the proposal. (Thank God such courage still exists in our society, even in small numbers.)
I’m not really sure what’s at the root of this bizarre, deranged — and oftentimes evil — obsession that our culture seems to have with devastating the lives of innocent kids. When we aren’t busy slaughtering them in the womb, we’re indoctrinating them into immoral, destructive, sinful belief systems before they’re even old enough to read and write. We embed propaganda into their music, movies, TV shows and, more recently, their classrooms. It’s astonishing, really. Today’s youth are used as political props by both Republicans and Democrats in order to pass legislation and push political agendas. Of course, these kids are innocent, naive and altogether unaware that they’re being used. It’s sickening, despicable and cowardly behavior on the part of any halfway-sane adult.
If approved, Delaware’s Regulation 225 would require schools to “provide access to facilities and activities that are consistent with a student’s gender identity — regardless of the child’s sex at birth. That includes bathrooms, locker rooms, team sports, and adhering to the child’s preferred name. Under the proposal, students could also choose their own race.”
As if that’s not bad enough, the regulation also has no requirement that the parent of the student be notified or informed of the child’s decision. In fact, it actually advises school administrators to evaluate the child’s physical and mental state on their own and then choose how to proceed, including whether or not to reveal any information to the parents. Thankfully, many moms and dads — and other citizens who have properly functioning brains and moral compasses — have come out against this absurdity and verbalized their stance, labeling it as ‘government overreach.’ Terri Hodges, President of the Delaware PTA, said:
I would be livid if the school allowed my daughter to make such a significant decision without me. I want to protect children, but we can’t pick and choose when to engage parents.”
She’s right, of course. I don’t have kids myself, but I can only imagine how irate I would be as a father if I suddenly discovered that a random employee of my child’s school system had counseled him through a so-called “gender identity crisis” without first contacting me. To be clear: it breaks my heart to hear stories of youth and teens who struggle with these sort of identity catastrophes. It’s obvious that they have immense voids in their life and deep emotional, psychological and spiritual problems — not to mention broken parental relationships.
And the truth is that they don’t need their school systems bending over backwards to affirm their delusions and appease their feelings. What they need is professional counseling. I say that with all of the love in my heart. In fact, I say it because of love. The most loving thing to do for a person suffering from a spiritual illness or misbelief is to provide him with truth, instruction, correction, hope, love and grace.
I can, however, be angry and loving at the same time. And I am furious with a government and culture that — particularly after every mass shooting — claims to care about children, while they simultaneously murder babies, indoctrinate children and even use them to advance political and social agendas. That is beyond disgraceful. It’s evil.
So, to those pushing Regulation 225, I have one thing to say: You’re all a bunch of shameful moral cowards and reprehensible hypocrites. The truth is that you couldn’t care less about the well-being or safety of children. If you did care, you’d be advocating for psychological and spiritual intervention and counseling for these kids, particularly considering the suicide rate and depression statistics among transgendered youth. You wouldn’t be messing with school bathroom policies or encouraging kids to have gender fantasies.
You’re concerned with one thing: propelling your selfish ideological narrative forward — as horrifyingly destructive and blatantly false as it is — with no regard for the consequences. Meanwhile our kids will pay the price in ways you cannot even fathom because you’re all a bunch of soulless monsters.
Normally I would pray for this reality to burn on your conscience like hellfire, but, sadly, it appears you never had a conscience to begin with.
