See my fancy little photo there? I took that with my iPhone. It’s beautiful, I know. But this post isn’t about my mad photography skillz. (Yes, my spell-check is working just fine.) This post is about that sticker on Hillary’s shoulder.
You see, the poor woman’s book hasn’t even been out for a month and people are already starting to use the dreaded B-word. (No, not that one.) A few veteran publishing sources are calling the book a “bomb.” Not exactly the word you want critics using to describe your memoir. According to New York-based publishing company Simon & Schuster, sales of Hillary’s “Hard Choices” have not even come close to meeting expectations. (Gee, I can’t imagine why.) It’s no wonder Target had to mark the darn thing down to 30 percent off. (Even an MSNBC panel slaughtered the book.)
Other sources on the inside say, “They sold 60,000 hard covers the first week and 24,000 e-books.” But the publishing house was “hoping and praying for 150,000 print first week.”
Another source added, “The 60k represents a less than 10 percent sell based on what they shipped.”
I don’t know much about book publishing, but this all sounds pretty pathetic — especially for a woman who will supposedly run for the White House in 2016. (God help us all.)
I guess this all makes sense though when you think about it. This is a woman who has no record of accomplishment whatsoever. Maybe some of Hillary’s delinquent fans are finally realizing how incompetent she is. Then again, significant accomplishments are apparently no longer a prerequisite for being president. (*cough* Barack Obama *cough*).
Sorry, had something gross stuck in my throat.
Remember when you actually had to have qualities like leadership, experience and patriotism in order to be elected the leader of the free world? What ever happened to that? Now, it’s all about how cool you are.
Sorry, folks. Being a badass, a great dancer or even the first woman president are not election-worthy qualities. But the sad truth is that, should she run, Hillary has a pretty decent shot at being elected. And guess what? She will be elected for all of the wrong reasons. (Sounds awfully familiar.) Mark my words: Hillary’s supporters will go around touting three things: her “impressive” resume, her great foreign policy experience and, well, the fact that she is a woman.
The irony is:
1.) Her resume sucks. She’s had some impressive titles over the last few years, but titles don’t reflect job performance. She couldn’t even solve the healthcare debacle back in 1993. (Remember HillaryCare?) Even liberal Democrats like Senator Robert Byrd said her plan was “a very complex, very expensive, very little understood piece of legislation.” — It included “federal subsidies for wildly profitable private insurance corporations.” (Sound familiar?) Giving Hillary a second shot at healthcare as president would be asinine.
2.) Her foreign policy sucks. It sucked when she was Secretary of State and attempted to smooth things out with Pakistan. (Radical anti-American ideologies still dominated there.) It sucked when she lied about the deaths of four Americans during what was a known terrorist attack on our American consulate in Benghazi. (She addresses this in her book.) But, maybe America will just overlook that. After all, “What difference does it make?”
3.) As a role model for women, she sucks. Her stance on [virtually unlimited] birth control sends a terrible message to the young girls of America — Have all the sex you want because the government will give you free (or cheap) birth control and you won’t have to worry about getting pregnant. (This is basically the message of the entire liberal Left.) Hillary was furious about the Supreme Court’s recent 5-4 ruling that some companies have the right to deny their employees certain kinds of birth control (like the abortion-inducing ones) that conflict with a company’s religious beliefs. On women’s issues, she’s been more angry and divisive than unifying. This doesn’t set the best example for the women of America either. And I won’t even mention all the marital/power drama in her relationship with Bill.
Honestly, I can't blame Target (and dozens of other retailers) for putting Hillary's book on sale so quickly. The woman is hilariously out of touch with the American people. (Not to mention American values.) And the book sales are so bad that it might be a sign that she needs to give up on a 2016 run altogether.
Maybe she should try giving away a free bottle of Jack Daniels with every book purchase. You'll probably need it just to get through the Benghazi chapter.
