Just in case you’ve been vacationing on Mars for last couple of months, here’s a quick briefing of what’s been happening here on Earth:
(On a positive note, Australia is building boats out of beer cans.)
But the Obama administration would have us believe everything is peachy keen. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters that President Barack Obama has improved global tranquility.
“There have been a number of situations in which you’ve seen this administration intervene in a meaningful way that has substantially furthered American interests and substantially improved the, you know, the tranquility of the global community.”
Tranquility? Where? In Iceland, maybe?
That list up there reads like the script for a Michael Bay apocalyptic thriller. (Only Bay could cram that much anarchy into one film.) One would think the president of the United States would be concerned about such events. One would think he would meet with important world leaders. One would think he would make a visit to the U.S-Mexico border.
One would think.
There’s just one problem. Barack Obama is an egomaniacal megalomaniac. Let me explain what I mean by that. Or, better yet, let me see if Mr. Webster can explain.
egomaniacal (adjective): overly concerned with one’s own desires, needs, or interests.
megalomaniac (noun): 1. a person who is obsessed with their own power. 2. a person who suffers delusions of their own power or importance.
Remind you of anyone?
Last Thursday at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, Obama gave a speech vowing to use unilateral executive action to bypass Congress. (What else is new?) Excluding instances when he quoted a letter from a citizen and cited dialogue from a movie, Barack Obama used the first person singular — including the pronouns “I” and “me” and the adjective “my” — 199 times. This means that he used the first person singular, on average, every 12 seconds.
Let that sink in for a minute.
Most people might say Wow, that takes some serious speechwriting skill.
No, it just comes natural when you have a severely deranged narcissistic personality disorder. Here’s that definition for you:
narcissism (noun): the pursuit or gratification from vanity, or egotistic admiration of one’s own physical or mental attributes, that derives from arrogant pride.”
Furthermore, those who suffer from this personality disorder are “excessively preoccupied with personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity, mentally unable to see the destructive damage they are causing to themselves and others in the process.”
Many psychologists and leading theories posit that pathological narcissism develops from dysfunctional relationships with the person’s primary “caregivers” (i.e. their parents.) Remember that Barack Obama had virtually no relationship with his biological father and was essentially abandoned to the care of his maternal grandparents by his mother — a mother who preferred her academic and anthropological work over motherhood.
Narcissists are usually easy to identify. Common personality and behavioral traits include: hypersensitivity to insults (real or imagined), haughty body language, hatred toward those with whom they disagree, bragging, exaggerations, arrogance, envy, feelings of entitlement, exploitation and selfishness. Because of these psychological and behavioral problems, narcissists struggle to work cooperatively with other people. They do not handle setbacks well. They blame and devalue others to deflect attention from their own failures. (They are too proud to admit they have failed.) And they lack empathy for those who struggle. (Though they often claim to care.)
Most of us can agree that total world peace is an unlikely occurrence. No president can promise that. No president can achieve that. It is impossible and always will be. No one is suggesting that Obama should be able to bring about world peace. (Despite the fact that he likely believes he can.)
But Barack Obama should be able to address and handle many of the issues plaguing our nation. Problems like the current border crisis will never be solved so long as Obama is distracted by his own reflection in hallway mirrors. Problems will never be solved so long as he remains so detached from reality that he leaves the White House to go drink beer and shoot pool. Problems will never be solved so long as he plays golf more often than he meets with the House and the Senate.
Barack Obama suffers from a classic case of textbook narcissism. Even worse, he’s an egocentric megalomanic suffering from narcissism. And the country is suffering because of his psychological condition.
Personally, I’d love to see him impeached, but that would require Republicans to get a backbone and there’s not a chiropractor in the world capable of solving that dilemma. So for now, I’ll settle for seeing an awakening amongst the American people.
Know this, America: Everything Obama does, he does for himself. If we could all come to the realization that he and many other politicians serve only themselves, we could at least claim some sort of moral ideological victory. We could at least say we have come to a greater understanding of our political culture and of ourselves.
I’ve heard there are psychotherapy centers with professionals capable of diagnosing and treating Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Maybe the president should check-in to one of these facilities. It might even be covered under Obamacare. (But I doubt it.)
