On Wednesday, former presidential candidate and current Wicked Witch of the West Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke at the annual Recode technology Code Conference in Ranchos Palos Verdes, California and said, among other things, that losing the 2016 election wasn’t her fault. In fact, she blamed everything from sexism, WikiLeaks and the right-wing media to Vladimir Putin, James Comey and “minions.” (I always knew something wasn’t right about those little yellow, animated jellybeans.) But, naturally, she didn’t stop there. Clinton went on to include the electoral voting system, the Democrat Party, Facebook, Citizens United, Netflix, Bernie Sanders, and even low-information voters. By the time she was done, the list had well-exceeded over 20 items, which is a little ironic and contradictory considering that she also said:
How does that even make sense? Personally, I was surprised that Darth Vader and carnivorous, flesh-eating bacteria didn’t make her list, but that’s just me.
Of course, this is standard procedure for practically any politician — Republican, Democrat or Independent — when they lose an election, particularly one with stakes as high as a presidential election. I get it. I’m sure it’s easier to blame random people, obscure political organizations and the biased media than it is to take personal and public ownership of one’s own faults and shortcomings. Maybe at some level that’s just what we call “being human.” But, it certainly doesn’t excuse such behavior and it definitely doesn’t mean that she’s right.
You might remember that within minutes of Trump’s victory last November, the Left erupted into sheer panic. While conservatives celebrated victory and cheered the defeat of the corrupt Clinton Machine, liberals everywhere took to the streets and social media to whine and moan and scream that “Literally Hitler” had just been elected president of the United States. This is the end! The world is over! Armageddon approaches! I have to admit that I found all of their wailing and gnashing of teeth a bit hysterical. After all, they really did bring this upon themselves by pitting the worst candidate in the history of presidential candidates against Donald Trump. Maybe if they had chosen someone with a decent set of morals and principles — someone who hadn’t, you know, committed crimes — they might have actually stood a chance. And considering all of the skeletons in Trump’s closet, all of the immorality and degeneracy, it’s even more pathetic, hilarious and altogether wonderful that Hillary lost in the end.
But, rather than rehash the conservative victory — particularly since I wasn’t all too thrilled with the Republican Party’s nominee anyway — I’d like to do something a tad more constructive, perhaps even beneficial. I’m going to attempt to help Hillary and her liberal progressive sycophantic fans understand once and for all why she lost. I don’t actually expect any of this to get through their thick skulls, mind you. I realize they’ll continue to place the blame on all the random societal and cultural aberrations like xenophobia, Islamophobia, homophobia, claustrophobia and every other phobia in the book. But, I can still dream.
Hillary Can't Relate or Speak to Average Americans to Save her Life.
Water is wet. The sky is blue. Fire is hot. Pizza Hut sells pizza. It's just a well-documented, irrefutable, inarguable truth that Hillary Clinton is awful at connecting with average, everyday folks.
If there’s one thing Donald Trump mastered during his campaign, it was the ability to connect with the average, everyday working and middle class American voters. This, of course, happened in spite of the fact that he’s a billionaire with a private jet, fleets of limousines, personal chauffeurs, hoards of servants and plenty of towers, casinos, hotels and plazas throughout New York and around the world that bear his name. And yet, regardless of all this, something in his rhetoric managed to attract the blue collar folks who are fed up with rich, egotistical government elitists telling them what to do and how to live.
Hillary and her liberal cohorts, on the other hand, blathered on endlessly from their high horses, lecturing us for wanting to make more money or have cheaper healthcare. They told us that we must embrace their economic policies and welfare programs or else we hate poor people and want the elderly and sick to die. Of course, none of that was true. It’s never true. But, it’s one of the many ridiculous mantras and tactics of the Left and this time most of America decided not to put up with it. They realized Hillary was a fraud. A phony. A charlatan who really couldn’t care less about the wellbeing of average Americans, much less identify with their circumstances.
She Endorsed and Promoted the Continuation of Policies That Failed For Eight Years Under Obama.
During a time when liberal programs like Obamacare were practically on life support, most of them failing horrifically, Hillary Clinton should have been pushing for new and fresh ideas. Instead, she seemed content to continually advance the notion of enhancing and “repairing” Obamacare, rather than repealing and replacing it completely. This isn't exactly what most voters wanted to hear while they sat at home and watched their premiums skyrocket. We all knew from the start that Obamacare would never work. We knew it. We told our government officials it was doomed from the beginning. We told them it was impossible. And yet, here was Hillary promising to come in and fix it and make it even better.
I think what really doomed Hillary Clinton in the end — in addition to the fact that both she and her party are horribly out of touch with middle class America — was her awful persona, blatant dishonesty and disregard for the truth and just a general ineffectiveness as a candidate. It really had nothing to do with demographics or sexism or bigotry. Hillary Clinton lost because she’s a terrible person and an even worse politician.
It’s just that simple.
