Leftists Are More Worried About Immigrant Families Being Torn Apart At the Border Than Human Babies Being Torn Apart In the Womb
I know, it’s a long title for a blog post, but this is one issue that has really gotten under my skin, so I felt it best to choose my words carefully. Ever since Trump announced today that he would be — perhaps, possibly, most likely — ending or modifying the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program implemented under the Obama administration, many progressive lefties across the nation have erupted into fits of mass hysteria and sheer panic, as they’re often prone to do. Protests have already broken out in Washington, Denver, Los Angeles and elsewhere, as throngs of exasperated folks have taken to the streets with their cute little poster board signs to whine about the “unfair” and “cruel” treatment of immigrant kids.
If you’re unfamiliar with DACA, it essentially allows illegal immigrants who entered America as minors to receive a renewable period of “deferred action” from being deported and simultaneously makes them eligible for legal citizenship and a work permit. Ask any liberal and they’ll probably tell you that it was the most loving and compassionate thing to do for all of those poor immigrant children. (Never mind that it was implemented unconstitutionally or that Obama did an end run around Congress.)
Speaking of Obama, here’s part of what the former president had to say today on Facebook when he found out that Trump was supposedly undoing his executive order:
Alright, I really can’t help but take note of all the strange irony and blatant hypocrisy in just these few sentences alone, much less in all of the posts from all of the insane leftists across social media today. In their passionate defense of illegal immigration and the sacred “Dreamers,” they’ve blasted us with a barrage of guilt-tripping phrases like:
“How can you be so mean to kids?”
“Don’t you love children?”
“You’re for tearing families apart!”
“This is about decency and morality!”
“This is cruel and unfair!”
The one thing that I always come back to whenever the Left claims to be looking out for innocent children and families (foreign or domestic) is the fact that these are the same people who openly and proudly support the mass slaughter of over a million babies a year in our own country. It’s simply a mind-boggling reality and the deepest form of hypocrisy that anyone would say, “Let’s save, protect, love and keep all of those kids who crossed over into our country from Mexico illegally so that they have a chance to pursue their dreams,” while simultaneously saying, “I have no problem with an infant being ripped apart and murdered in the womb before it has a chance to purse its dreams.”
Of course, I realize the vast majority of pro-aborts don’t consider the life inside of the expectant mother to be anything more than a worthless clump of cells. This is the old, stale, boring argument that they’ll always come back to, despite how many times it’s been scientifically and medically debunked. But, the truth remains that you can’t stand on your political soapbox and gripe about the so-called “unfair” deportation of children and “tearing immigrant families apart" while you simultaneously support ripping children apart in the womb and tossing their bloodied corpses into the medical waste bin dumpsters at Planned Parenthood clinics. If you’re going to be worried about the lives of immigrant children — and claim, as Obama did, that it’s a moral issue — then you have to worry about the lives of the unborn and admit that this is a moral issue as well.
See, I’m talking about consistency, a concept that I realize is rather difficult for the Left as a whole to comprehend and even more difficult for them to accomplish.
Sorry, but I just can’t take any of the above immigration “compassion” arguments or talking points seriously when they’re coming from the same people who are totally fine with executing about 3,000 children a day in the United States.
Honestly, I won’t be able to take the Left seriously at all until they change their stance on this issue altogether. And sadly, I’m not holding my breath on that.
