There's something rather unnerving about a President who can look the American people in the eye and say things that defy logic and facts. Speaking to donors at a 60-person Democratic fundraiser event Monday night, President Obama said that debating issues like Benghazi and Obamacare are pointless.
"The debate we're having now is about what, Benghazi? Obamacare? And it becomes this endless loop. It's not serious. It's not speaking to the real concerns that people have," said Obama.
Uh, really? I wonder if the President has seen the latest Politico poll that found 60 percent of voters believe that the debate about Obamacare is "not over." Sounds like a real concern to me. Then again, I live on planet Earth. I think Obama lives on Mars and just visits Earth to make speeches and play golf. (Makes sense -- there's no one to talk to on Mars and golf requires grass.)
Furthermore, a new Gallup poll found that Americans rate "abuse of power and corruption" as the second "most important" problem in America. This does not bode well for Democrats coming in to the midterm elections and, even worse, the run for the White House.
At the fundraiser dinner, which was held at the home of a doctor in Potomac, Maryland, Obama explained that Republicans are, "trying to figure out how they can make people sufficiently cynical, sufficiently angry, sufficiently suspicious so that they can win the next election."
As if that wasn't a ridiculous enough statement, he added, "I hate to be blunt about it, but that's the play."
Let me point something out here. These polls that I'm citing are non-partisan and can be found with a simple Google search. It's baffling that Obama can speak as if they don't exist. Also, how can he say that Obamacare is not a "real issue" when it is affecting millions of Americans? His mentality is borderline delusional. That's like saying gas prices aren't worth talking about because they don't impact people's lives. I guess that would be true if every American was driving a hybrid car that ran on electricity and if gas guzzling vehicles like garbage trucks, 18-wheelers and riding lawnmowers were suddenly outlawed. (Come to think of it, it wouldn't surprise me if Obama banned those things.)
The ironic truth is that Obama is actually helping Republicans win the next election. He's screwed things up so much that the people who swooned over him during his elections are now waking up to realize that he has not kept a single promise. Maybe he's blind to that fact. Maybe he's in denial. Maybe he's high. Or maybe it's a weird combination of all three. Regardless, it's obvious that Americans are fed up with his administration and they're tired of being lied to. I know I am. And I didn't even vote for the guy.
