With all the news this week about ISIS, Roger Goodell and that lunatic fence-jumper who managed to breach the front door of the White House, this malicious tweet from leftwing Atlantic journalist and flaming liberal hypocrite Jeffrey Goldberg went unnoticed by many:
Why on Earth any sane individual would even consider comparing a female governor (or anyone else for that matter) and loving mother of five to a burqa-wearing Taliban supporter brandishing a pistol is, honestly, beyond me. Then again, I gave up on trying to comprehend liberals a long time ago. (Somewhere in 2008. I’ll let you guess the month.)
Anyway, as you might imagine, the backlash erupted within seconds of Goldberg posting the tweet. Eric Bolling of FOX NEWS tweeted this reply to Goldberg:
Goldberg eventually deleted the tweet, admitting to Bolling and that it was indeed “asinine and thoughtless” and said that he apologized for it. But this hardly constitutes as an apology:
To his credit, after even further criticism, he did send out this tweet:
But it’s too late. The damage has been done. Besides, I seriously doubt anyone has made threats against his family. He found himself backed into a corner and his last move was to pull out the victim card. So he did.
Even many of Goldberg’s liberal Twitter followers slammed him for the tweet. And who could blame them? This wasn’t just some blind insult or sarcastic remark. And it wasn’t “thoughtless.” This was intentionally hateful, vile, malicious, defamatory and slanderous. If he had compared Palin to, let’s say, an antique car — out of touch with modern politics — people wouldn’t have exploded in outrage. Sadly, those are the sort of insults we expect from liberals.
But to suggest that Sarah Palin has something in common with the a terrorist organization that slaughters Americans, flies planes into buildings, beheads journalists, sells women into sex slave markets and bombs innocent civilians is nothing short of pathetic, subhuman behavior.
You might be wondering why all of this is worth mentioning.
Why even give Goldberg a spotlight on your blog, Josh? He’s scum. He’s human garbage. He doesn’t even deserve to be mentioned, much less discussed.
Well, you’re right about his scum-like qualities. But let’s take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
First, most people are unaware that this is not the first time Goldberg has attacked Sarah Palin. In fact, the man has seemingly been obsessed with the former Alaska governor since 2010 when he wrote articles encouraging Muslims to repudiate her and another piece arguing that she endangers American national security. Back in 2009, he even speculated on her religious views of the Rapture based on comments she made about Jewish people. (I’ve embedded the links in case you’d like to read the articles. Although I suggest you don’t. They’re that ridiculous.)
Second, and more important, Goldberg exemplifies the view of women that many on the liberal Left, including himself, adhere to. And yet, these are the same liberals who consistently argue that conservatives are the ones “waging war on women” by opposing things like abortion and free birth control. This is utter lunacy. The hypocrisy is so thick that it’s almost laughable. (Actually it is laughable. In fact, I’m laughing right now.) How dare he accuse an entire political party of being anti-women and then turn around and compare Sarah Palin, a woman, to radical terrorists?
The bigger question in all of this is not “Why is Jeffrey Goldberg such an idiot?” (Though that’s certainly a legitimate inquiry worth exploring.) The bigger question is, “What is it about conservative women [and sometimes women in general] that make them such easy targets?” Why does the Left attack them on such a regular basis? Why does the radical Left make the comparisons that Goldberg made?
Could it possibly be that the vast majority of American conservative women possess beliefs, values, morals and levels of independence that liberals find to be completely inconsistent with radical liberal ideology? Surely that can’t be the reason. After all, that would mean that liberals are intolerant. Right? It might even mean that some of their beliefs and policies are sexist. And, furthermore, liberals expect the vast majority of conservative women [and, really, women in general] to keep their mouths shut when they’re insulted by the Left.
So, outspoken women like Sarah Palin are fun targets because the Left knows she will fight back. And if there’s one thing liberals love, it’s a verbal fight filled with personal insults and vile degradation. (Think Obama.) Furthermore, women like Sarah Palin are a threat to liberalism because they oppose things like unlimited birth control and the murder of unborn children. Men like Goldberg would never admit it, but, in reality, they’re scared of her. They’re afraid of her influence and the possibility that she could reach women on a broad scale — including women who previously voted Democratic — and reveal the nasty truths about liberals and the Democratic Party.
But American women aren’t terrorists, Jeffrey. They aren’t violent individuals trying to frighten or kill people in order to make political points or achieve political goals. They’re human beings worthy and deserving of your respect, honor, admiration and thanks. They’re a gift and blessing to mankind and society. Despite what I suspect you think, they’re independent and more than capable of logical thought, reasoning and rationality.
Somewhere in the depths of your soul, I’d like to think that you know that. But, for now, your actions have proven otherwise.
For the sake of every American with a brain, Jeffrey, please get a grip.
