This week hasn’t been a great week for Hillary. But then again, neither was last week. Or the week before that. Or the year before that. I mean, when you go through life as a habitual liar, e-mailing classified government information from a private computer server, covering up scandal after scandal, it’s bound to catch up with you at some point. Eventually, all you can do is just make fun of yourself. After all, the American people aren’t dumb. (Most of them anyway.) It only takes so many news reports, FBI investigations and forthcoming criminal prosecutions before voters start to think ‘Hey, maybe we shouldn’t elect this woman just because she’s a woman or because she has a Snapchat account.’
Of course, ‘ol Hillary will always have a few sycophantic supporters no matter what the latest polls show. (Hint: her honesty factor sucks.) These are the folks that conservative commentators like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity refer to as low-information voters — the people who vote for a candidate based solely on style and rhetoric rather than substance and truth. They’re just too damned lazy or apathetic to take five minutes with Google to research a candidate’s political philosophies or their past. This is the same crowd that put Obama in office in 2008. And again in 2012. It’s the same crowd cheering for Bernie Sanders and, dare I say it, the same crowd pledging support to Donald Trump. But, I’m not here to bash low-information voters. They do a fine job of looking like idiots all on their own.
Speaking of idiots, Mrs. Clinton, as you may have noticed, is plummeting in the polls — losing in New Hampshire to Vermont Senator and self-professing socialist Bernie Sanders and even watching her lead in Iowa slowly evaporate. So much for being the presumed Democratic frontrunner. It seems that Republicans aren’t the only ones looking for a genuine, anti-establishment candidate. Hillary’s lame speeches, stale talking points and cheesy rhetoric just aren’t resonating throughout the majority of the established liberal base. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that she’s a crook, a fraud, a phony and a lying degenerate who should be in jail, not the White House.
This is all sort of ironic when you consider that Hillary (can, I just refer to her as Hill?) promised that her 2016 campaign would go more smoothly and be better handled than her first back in 2008. What a joke. As you may have noticed, her campaign has been a disaster of epic proportions since it launched, despite her efforts to hire the best strategists, the brightest staffers and to connect with the American people on a personable level. And yet, here we are: Hillary and Democrats in full-scale damage control mode. There’s really just no way to put a positive spin on headlines like these:
Hillary Clinton Won’t Say If Her Server Was Wiped
Hillary Clinton Jokes About Wiping Email Server ‘With a Cloth or Something’
Clinton’s Computer Company: Loft Apartment With Servers Stuffed In A Bathroom
Hillary Clinton Requested Book With Tips on Subpoenas And Deleting Emails
Clinton Taunts Snapchat ‘messages disappear all by themselves’
I mean, when your candidate of choice is caught trying to get her hands on a book with a chapter titled: “The Email That Can Land You In Jail” — and a subsection titled “How To Delete Something So It Stays Deleted” — it just doesn’t look good. That’s like Hannibal Lecter e-mailing Emeril Lagasse and asking for tips on deep-frying human flesh. In fact, things are so bad for Hillary and the Democrats that Joe Biden is considering jumping into the race. Even Al Gore’s name is floating around — yes, that Al Gore. God help us all.
Hillary just doesn’t seem to have the charm, the charisma, the style or the allure needed to connect with folks. (Not to mention, the intelligence.) Obama mastered this in both of his campaigns. He cast himself as the poor kid who grew up on the mean streets of Hawaii and rose to greatness by the sweat of his own brow. Meanwhile, everyone was so distracted by his “hope and change” mantra, that they didn’t bother to research his agenda. I guess it’s really no surprise then that, given Hillary’s pathetic drop in the polls, the Democratic voters are flocking to a 74-year-old socialist dotard who will undoubtedly destroy America or die trying. But, at this point, who can really blame them? Their once-heroic pantsuited warrior is now an easily beatable candidate whose political career is, quite literally, in the toilet. She’s failed miserably at choreographing anything that remotely resembles a successful presidential campaign and has succeeded wildly at dodging federal prosecution for her many crimes against this country — crimes that are now making headlines in the national media.
Anyway, I think it’s important to remember that Hillary Clinton is dishonest. If there’s one singular reason to not vote for this woman (granted, there are many) then that should be it. Every crime she’s committed and every scandal she’s tried to cover up stems from her overwhelming dishonesty. Sure, every politician, Democrats and Republicans, usually makes promises they can’t fulfill. Dishonesty flourishes in Washington. It doesn’t make it right, but it’s just part of the political game these days. Hillary, however, has gone far beyond telling fibs or little white lies. She’s committed felonies, endangered national security and has repeatedly violated the trust of the American people. She has no business being in Washington politics, much less being the president of the United States.
Sadly, a lot of people will vote for her. They’ll vote for her because she’s a woman. Or because she has a weird laugh. Or because she reminds them of their grandma. Who knows? I’m sure it will be some superficial, pointless, unsubstantial, uneducated reason. Honestly, those are the only sort of reasons her supporters have left. There’s nothing to this woman but cronyism, deceit and egomaniacal dishonesty.
How can anyone expect her to be a proficient, competent president, if she’s this bad at running for president? Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I say if you’re being investigated by the FBI, you probably shouldn’t be allowed to run for president.
