This story hasn’t gotten nearly the attention that it deserves and that’s a damn shame. It’s a shame because of the brutality of the crime. It’s a shame because of the lack of journalistic integrity. It’s a shame because of the age of the victim. It’s a shame because of the pure, unadulterated decline of morality and parental influence in our nation. It’s shame for a whole host of reasons. But, most of all it’s a shame because it could’ve easily been prevented. Yes, this heartbreaking, gut-wrenching catastrophe likely never even had to happen in the first place.
But before we get into that, I think it’s important to review the details and alleged facts of what happened here so that it’s clear exactly what we’re dealing with, as gruesome as they may be:
We know that a 14-year-old girl at a high school in Rockville, Maryland was brutally raped and sodomized by two male students a few days ago, at least one of whom was in the country illegally. According to several reports, her attackers— Jose O. Montano, 17, from El Salvador, and Henry E. Sanchez-Milian, 18, from Guatemala — forced her into a campus bathroom stall and made her perform oral sex. All three students are enrolled as freshmen at the school. Of course, this makes sense for the unidentified 14-year-old girl. She’s right where she needs to be, academically speaking. But, Sanchez-Milian, an adult by all legal and comparative standards at 18-years-old, has no business whatsoever being in the ninth grade. (Never mind for now that he also has no business even being in our country.) According to court records, Sanchez-Milian and Montano mercilessly raped and assaulted the young girl “multiple times, vaginally, orally, and sodomized her, as they spoke to her in Spanish. Blood and male fluids were recovered from the scene by a forensic expert…”
It’s also worth mentioning that Sanchez-Milian had already been placed on an Alien Removal List, which means that our own freaking government had been dragging their heels for God only knows how long, waiting to deport him back to Guatemala. And while they were busy doing absolutely nothing, he decided to sexually assault, rape and sodomize a 14-year-old girl.
Sadly, we’ve been here time and time again. And it’s always the same story: an illegal immigrant makes local or national news headlines for committing a heinous crime and about 12 seconds after the story breaks, we all learn that he had been on the radar of immigration officials for several months or even years. And, as if that wasn’t bad enough in this particular case, Maryland Democratic politicians quickly and decisively voted to make the state a “sanctuary state” just three days after this girl was brutally raped. They didn’t respond by enacting new state immigration policies or tightening security or developing screening processes for immigrants enrolling in their public schools systems. No, all of that would have just made too much sense. So, instead, they responded by essentially saying, “Hey, let’s just bring more of these men into our state and let the chips fall where they may.”
A child was literally just raped in their school system by an illegal 18-year-old adult male and that’s how these asinine politicians respond. Deranged psychopaths, the whole lot of ‘em.
Anyway, there are many points that can and should be made about this whole situation, but I just want to focus on two in particular:
It's not racist to want more effective immigration policies. It's just common sense.
This should really go without saying, but in the wake of this tragedy there’s been plenty of accusations of racism leveled against Trump’s administration and conservatives in general for wanting to overhaul our nation’s immigration policies and place tighter restrictions on who can and cannot come into our country. Of course, this is to be expected from Leftists and it’s such a weak and incoherent argument that it’s barely even worth addressing. But, since we have to face progressives on their own battlefields, let me just say that while we are certainly a “nation of immigrants,” we’re also a nation of laws. And if you want to enter our country, you 1) have to do so legally and 2) be willing to abide by our laws while you’re here. If you can’t do both of those, then there’s no place for you in America. Period. That’s not mean or intolerant or bigoted, it’s just logical, sane and rational.
Wanting to protect one’s own citizens from harm isn’t racist, despite the fact that the source of the potential harm might be coming from a specific ethnic group. No one is saying that all Mexicans rape. Or that all Guatemalans rape. No one is even saying that all illegal immigrants are somehow dangerous to our physical wellbeing. Those arguments aren’t out there and to pretend that this is what conservatives are saying is just utterly delusional and intellectually dishonest. What we are saying is that it’s just plain intelligent and reasonable to have laws in place to prevent the likelihood that these kind of travesties will occur, particularly given the fact that they have occurred.
Yes, we do know what we can’t prevent all rapes from occurring. We know that. But, if we can enforce our country’s standard immigration laws and cut down on even a small percentage of the number of crimes, assaults and rapes that are carried out by illegal immigrants, why wouldn’t we do that? The safety and lives our children are at stake here. Shouldn’t we take that seriously?
We have enough of our own criminals. We don't need to import more of them.
A Fusion investigation report from a couple of years ago found that 80 percent of women and girls who are crossing over into the U.S. from Central America by way of Mexico are raped along the way. This is up from 60 percent, according to an Amnesty International report. That’s a mind-boggling number and, going purely by logic, it stands to reason that a certain percentage of the men traveling with these immigrant women are the ones who are doing the raping. In other words, the immigrant men are raping their own women during the process of immigration and then raping other women once they get here.
On average, there’s over 300,000 cases of rape or sexual assault each year in the United States alone. These are the red-blooded American criminals and scumbags who we have to deal with every day because we don’t have a choice. They’re already here. They’ve been here. They’re ours. So, why would we open our borders up to more criminals and rapists when we’re already drowning in a statistic like that? Why would we knowingly and intentionally create the potential for more horrific cases like the one in Maryland? It would defy every form of logic and reason to do so and, yet, here we are, doing exactly that.
Every American citizen — our kids especially — has a right to be protected from this sort of thing. No 14-year-old American girl should have to wake up in the morning and worry that she might be raped in her high school bathroom by an illegal immigrant student from Guatemala who shouldn’t even be in the ninth grade to begin with, much less in the country. No parent should have to worry about something like this happening in their kid’s public school system. They should be able to trust that our government is enforcing the immigration rules and laws that have already been on the books for decades. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.
Sure, we can argue that “all rapes shouldn’t happen,” but that’s not the point, is it? The point is that the easily preventable rapes, like this one, definitely should not be happening. They shouldn’t be happening because these degenerate dirtbags shouldn’t be here to begin with.
We have enough of our own criminals. We don’t need everyone else’s.
